Mr. Ho Hou Wai, Declan is a Registered Clinical Psychologist recognized by the Department of Health of HKSAR Government. He has worked in various schools and private organization and completed clinical placements at multiple hospitals under the Hospital Authority, including the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service at Queen Mary Hospital, Adult Psychiatry Service at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, Medical Service at Tung Wah Hospital, and the Oasis, Center for Personal Growth and Crisis Intervention at the Head Office of the Hospital Authority.
He has extensive clinical experience working with children and adolescents with developmental delays or special educational needs, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Before practicing as a clinical psychologist, he worked as a Behavior Therapist, providing behavior training for children and adolescents in need. He frequently handles assessments for neurodevelopmental disorders and is skilled in addressing family issues and improving parent-child relationships.
Additionally, he has rich clinical experience in psychotherapy for adults, treating various mental health conditions such as depressive and anxiety disorders. His treatment approaches are personalized, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
He has been interviewed on the television program " Big City Shop" to promote public mental health. He has also conducted various seminars and workshops on mental health and stress management for the general public and provides school-based clinical psychological services to different schools. He is adept at handling children and adolescents with emotional distress, school refusal, and high suicide risk.
